Demnate
Arriving at Demnate I found no westerners there. I made a circuit around the town and then several passes through it, purchasing some supplies. It did not take me long to think about leaving, as it seemed, apart from its old walls, to be a very provincial humdrum place without any obvious attractions or landmarks. Nevertheless, scrambling over a ditch and entering the school playing ground I chanced upon several elaborate and beautiful archways, and thought myself very fortunate to have made the discovery.
After about half an hour I jumped into a van at the top of the town, and with a great number of townsmen and produce, was conveyed to Inmi in ifri.
Little did I expect at this stage that I would return to Demnate and spend several nights here.
